What: Live online small group test prep courses for the CBMT Exam with an experienced coach. Registration fee for courses is $225.00. The following topics will be covered:
- High level overview of certification domains w/ presentations from instructor
- Interactive discussions
- Development/enhancement of study plan and study habits
- Time management
- Test taking strategies
- Resource review and recommendations
Who: Whether you are a first time test taker or repeat test taker, the current MT Exam Prep course offerings are designed to support credential-seeking music therapists intending to sit for the Board Exam in 2024. There are no additional qualifications for participation.
When: Upcoming live online course offerings are currently open while space lasts. Each course takes place over two weeks (four sessions per course). Select the course that is most convenient for you!

Where: Group sessions are virtual with a live online instructor at the scheduled times, so you are welcome to join from the comfort of your home. Web-based meeting room platform link and PIN will be provided after registration but prior to class. A device with internet connection (computer/iPad/cell phone) is required in order to join the web-based portal to view the presentations and connect to audio.

What: 1-on-1 private tutoring with an experienced coach who will enhance your study plan strategy and identify core areas of improvement in preparation for the CBMT exam.
- Initial consultation: Free
- Initial consultation + 1 Sequel action plan session + 2 Accountability Meetings: $310
- Initial consultation + 4 Private tutoring sessions + 1 Accountability Meeting: $625
Who & Why: Whether you are a first time test taker or repeat test taker, a coach will support you in your preparation of the most important exam you will take in order to achieve your goal of becoming a board-certified music therapist by providing experienced guidance, a roadmap for success and identifying potential blind spots.
When: Maximum scheduling flexibility! We will work with you to set a time that is most accommodating to your schedule. All coaching sessions are one hour in duration and accountability meetings are 20 minutes.
Where: Coaching/tutoring sessions are virtual with the option of live audio or live video sessions regardless of time zone, at the location most convenient for you!

Q: What can I expect in an initial consultation, and why is it free?
A: We value communication and access! An initial conversation helps us to better understand where you are in your preparation process and answer any additional questions you may have prior to commitment.
Q: What can I expect out of a Sequel action plan session?
A: This is a power-packed 1-hr strategy session to develop your individualized study plan with focused recommendations. It is the best option for those who need a roadmap on what/how to best prepare but unable to commit to the private tutoring package at this time.
Q: What can I expect out of 1-on-1 virtual private tutoring sessions?
A: Engagement with an experienced coach during structured but individualized 45 minute tutoring sessions. Please see "Benefits of private tutoring with an effective coach" section above. Private tutoring package also includes the Sequel action plan session.
Q: When should I start working with a private tutor?
A: We typically work with clients within six to 12 weeks of their board exam target date. However, the timing may differ for each individual based on specific circumstances and needs. Contact us and we would be happy to share recommendations for you specifically.

Program Directors Workshops
Workshop: An Introduction to the MT-BC Exam is a one-hour presentation workshop for students who are currently in their final year of practicum or anytime during the course of internship. The workshops can only be requested by program directors, internship supervisors, or professors of practicum on the university level. This course provides emerging music therapist with a simple framework of where and how to begin preparing for the CBMT board certification. Brief topics to be discussed included an introduction to the CBMT domains, recommended resources, time management skills, study habits tips, etc.

Small Group Coaching
This style of coaching is offered to individuals who desire to prepare for the CBMT certification in a small group setting (3-4 participants). Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in two coaching sessions on one topic of their choice per session along with recommended tips and resources to strengthen the effectiveness of their study preparation. It is the responsibility of the members to create the small group before requesting coaching.
Cost: $150.00 per person
