Dr. Brian Barnes holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Humanities and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Louisville. Barnes is a veteran of the US Army, along with other non-academic careers, and currently teaches face-to-face and online classes at several universities in traditional philosophy topics, along with courses in sustainability, critical thinking, and Japanese sword practice.
He has co-authored articles examining critical thinking strategies and tactics for the National Teaching and Learning Forum and is the author of the textbook, The Central Question: Critical Engagement with Business Ethics (2013). Barnes co-hosts the weekly radio show, Critical Thinking for Everyone!, on 106.5 Forward Radio in Louisville, and he also created the critical thinking comic book series, Adventures in Critical Thinking.
Dr. Barnes is a Scholar of the Foundation for Critical Thinking, and was a direct student of Dr. Richard Paul.
Deforia Lane, PhD., MT-BC, 45-year + music therapy clinician and researcher, who began her career with children and young adults with developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. For over 35 years she was Director of Art & Music Therapy for the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland where she started the program in the hospital's Cancer Center and expanded it throughout the hospital. Dr. Lane created and taught the first music therapy course at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.
Dr. Lane has mentored over 80 music therapy interns, authored several articles, presents nationally and internationally and since her retirement in 2018 she enjoys serving on PNC's Grow Up Great Advisory Counsel, and consults with healthcare and academic institutions.
Dr. Lane still marvels at the wonder and transformative power of music.

Allyson Rogers, MMT, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist and the founder of Music & Miracles, a private practice located in Nashville, Tennessee specializing in mental health, perinatal mental health, and holistic wellness. She received her Masters in Music Therapy at Temple University and her Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.
Allyson works with individuals, couples, and families navigating stress, anxiety, depression, parenthood, life changes, and more. She also provides coaching services to students preparing for their music therapy board exam, as well as supervision to music therapy professionals seeking to explore and expand their clinical skills.
Outside of her clinical work, Allyson advocates for music therapy as a member of the Tennessee State Task Force and co-host of the podcast, Clinical BOPulations. She is also a singer/songwriter and enjoys performing around Nashville.
Brandy is a board-certified Music Therapist and Sound Practitioner, Clinical Operations Specialist with Music Therapy Solutions, and the founder of Calm Body, Clear Mind Therapeutic Services.
Her unique blend of sound healing, meditation, and other evidence-based and somatic practices helps those recovering from extreme stress and burnout regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with joy, and live with more peace and less overwhelm. She also offers corporate wellness services focused on stress management and burnout prevention and recovery.
Brandy aims to create experiences that are trauma-sensitive and supportive for those identifying as highly sensitive and Neurodivergent.
